   Large garden urn on stone base


 

Description:

A truly grand 19th century French or possibly Belgium cast iron urn in a unusually large size.
Featuring mask and loop handles, a trailing grape vine frieze, all over a deeply gadrooned bowl with an acanthus leaf socle. Wonderful old blue/green wash with gold highlights on the vines.

Although not signed, this piece demonstrates the workmanship and
artistry of an extremely high quality 19th century foundry
