ROOSTER WEATHERVANE WITH EXCELLENT VERDIGRIS SURFACE AND A PERIOD, CAST IRON STAND IN EARLY PAINT, 1870-1900:

Description:
Rooster weathervane, full-bodied copper with untouched, natural verdegris surface that scores a 9.5 or better on a scale of 1-10. Made circa 1870-1900. The stand, also antique, is probably a general store display accessory. With a bell-shaped, cast-iron weight and terrific, forest green-painted surface, it dates to the second half of the 19th century.

Attributed to L.W. Cushing & Sons, Waltham, Mass., which was founded in 1872 and made this form from that year until 1900.
