Art Nouveau French 18K, Pearl and Diamond Pendant Necklace, Paris C. 1900 by Henri-Auguste Solie. The Pendant depicting a female head in the manner of Loie Fuller; with a small diamond set star upon her head, a single Pearl drop, narrow gold and natural pearl chain attached. Total Item Weight: - 5.50 gm. Total Length: - 19 ins. HENRI-AUGUST SOLIE was a Paris Jeweller known for his use of female motifs. For the Paris International Exhibition of 1900 he produced a Loie Fuller buckle incorporating draped ribbons and showing a great deal of movement. In 1892, Loie Fuller at the Follies Bergere, had spectacular success with lights and mirrors and Fuller became the inspiration for numerous sculptors. This new symbolism mixed with the previous theme of libidinous, dangerous and lustful femme fatale as expressed in vampire imagery, was instrumental in Loie Fullers� metamorphosis on stage from bat to woman.
