IM-7839: (117 x 88mm) Original leaf from a dated German manuscript Prayer book. 14 lines of text, written in German with dark brown ink - many initials heightened with gold and/or silver - in fine Gothic script, on animal vellum.
The title page notes that this Prayer Book was scribed by Johann Naevium (Naeve) in the year 1603!
Very unusual and decorative borders in an intricate geometric and floral design in gold, silver, red, green and gold.
This leaf contains Psalm 6:1-7: ''Herr straffe mich...'' (O Lord, rebuke me not in thy indignation, nor chastise me in thy wrath. Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am weak: heal me, O Lord...).
