George III wine-table, in the manner of Gillows, of semi-circular or horseshoe form (leaf removed). The semi-circular table having top and leaf cut from a single 30.5" wide mahogany top over a conforming apron raised on turned and fluted tapering legs ending in brass cup casters. Each end of the outer surface with a drop-leaf which would be raised when in use. These tables were used in front of the fire with the center leaf removed and the drop-leafs raised. Guests would sit around the papameter of the table where the host would serve wine and spirits.Today these tables make great writing/library tables.
