NEW ENGLAND DRESSING TABLE IN CHROME YELLOW PAINT WITH VINEGAR DECORATED SPLASH:

Description:
This beautiful, Northern New England, paint-decorated dressing table has a chrome yellow background, a vinegar-painted, scrolled splash, and fine, country Sheraton legs with a interestingly smooth, bulbous turning near the bottom. The proportions, the paint surface and condition are all excellent for the period, ca 1820-1830. The bottom-weighted, off-set leaf decoration around and below the brass Sheraton knob is particularly folky. The pinstripe colors include black and windsor green and there are gold floral rosettes just above the center of each front leg.
