|
Pair of late 19th century American cast iron chairs in the Morning Glory pattern, the three paw footed legs enhanced with a grape motif, support a round seat and tapered rounded back of interlocking vines and morning glories. Produced by several American foundries in the second half of the 19th century the Morning Glory pattern is curvilinear adaptation of the more boxy Convolvulous pattern produced and patented by the English firm Coalbrookdale in the mid-1800's. |
