   Pair of Italian cast iron and mother of pearl beds


 

Description:
Unusal pair of late 19th century Italian cast iron beds in the Rococo taste, the head and foot boards are three dimensional scallop shells with mother–of-pearl inlay, surmounted with bows and flowing ribbons, and surrounded by foliate scrolls.

Although the beds do not contain a maker's label, a similar model was produced by the Fratelli Pesci, foundry of Naples.
