PAINTED, AMERICAN, FOX & GEESE GAME BOARD IN SCARLET RED AND MUSTARD, 1840-60:
Description: |
Painted, American, Fox & Geese game board in scarlet red and mustard. Made during the mid-19th century on a wonderfully crude, hand-planed, wooden plank, the polychrome surface has great craquelure and patination. A Parcheesi board is painted on the reverse in burgundy red, cheddar orange and black.
Mounting: A custom-made bracket was cleverly made for wall display in such a manner that no holes needed to be drilled in the game board. |
