| Fine 19th cent Viennese ormolu enamel box, C.1875.The box of slight kidney shape, hinged cover depicting painted romantic scene of two seated women, cherub in back ground. When opened the interior of cover reveals a painted enamel partially nude woman seated by the edge of a stream, foliage background. The surround of box depicting foliate enamel scenes interspaced with lozenge panels, the lower part, plum colour enamel, underside gilded enamel foliage against sky blue background. Measures: 3 x 2 x 2 ins. |
