Pair of 19th century Scottish terracotta urns

Description:

Pair of 19th century Scottish terracotta campana form urns on bases, each base and urn signed J & M Craig Limited. With much evidence of old paint, the bodies of the urns are enhanced with raised draped swags. The stepped pedestal bases display panels of raised grapes and leaves, and rope twist braiding decorates the underside of the pedestal tops.

The Craig factory of Ayrshire, Scotland was established in 1831 and ceased operations in 1914.
