Vintage lithographed board games pair up fantastically with collections of wooden, paint-decorated game boards. This one dates to 1954 and is a bit late in some senses, but the colorful images of the worlds strongest man in action are simply great--comically appealing and nostalgically endearing. Superman Prevents Collapse of Bridge, Superman Stops Bank Robbers, and Superman Puts Out Forest Fires are three of the eight vignettes that surround a central medallion of city buildings, the largest of which is the Daily Planet.
Great for a childs room or the adult who refuses to grow up.
Mounting: The board has been carefully recessed into 100% cotton rag mat board, lined with 100% cotton, black in color, which has been washed and treated to reduce and set the dye. The frame is simple and black in color. The front is u.v. protective Plexiglas. |
