| Superb early 19th century French cast iron urn by the J.J. Ducel foundry, well cast with swagged garlands on both sides draped through the handles, a variation of the Greek key design. The urn is covered with a acanthus decorated removable top, often referred to as a winter cover, surmounted by a pineapple. The winter cover protected the urn from freezing water, while still providing an elegant appearance when the urn was not planted. |
