IM-3184: (290x193mm) Original leaf from a medieval manuscript folio Bible with illuminations from an artist identified by Robert Branner (Manuscript painting in Paris During the Reign of Saint Louis) as a member of the Main-line of the Sainte-Chapelle Group.Latin gothic script, hand-written in brown ink, on animal vellum. Rubricated chapter numbers, initials and marginalia in red and blue. 50 lines of text in double columns.   France: Paris, c. 1247.

One six-line initial illuminated initial in pink with white tracery & elaborate internal design in pink, blue, orange gold & white tracery; setting on a square ground of blue & burnished gold with white tracery. One six-line illuminated initial in blue with white tracery & an interior painting in colors of red, orange, blue, gray & gold, depicting a seated Ezekiel holding his attribute: a scroll (which by tradition contains the words ''Porta clausa...''[This gate shall be shut, it shall not be opened]). The initial sits on a pink ground with white tracery and extends over half the length of the center margin in blue, gold, orange, pink and white. Two two-line initials alternating in red with blue pen-work, & blue with red pen-work, extending into the margin.

The large size of the page is unusual in 13^th century Bible production!

This leaf begins the Prologue to Ezekiel. The historiated initial begins: Ezekiel 1:1 through 3:18: ''Et factum...'' (Now it came to pass and I saw, and behold a whirlwind came out of the north...'').
