Rare 18th century Georgian Old Sheffield Punch Bowl, English C.1780. Rare example of OSP Bowls, plain with upper and lower bead border, crested on one side with demi lion., ducally crowned, the other with coat of arms within foliate cartouche; a saltire, az, charged in the centre with an escallop, out of a ducal coronet with demi lion. Minimal bleeding high points and coat of arms, very good colour and patina. Diameter: 11.75 inches. Height: 5 ½ inches. OLD SHEFFIELD BOWLS WERE RARELY MADE. |
