Description: |
|
This extraordinary model of an early whaling boat is one of the finest examples I have ever seen. It is made almost entirely out of whale bone with tiny hand-made brass and copper fittings with a matching mahogany stand for display. Most likely sailor made. Remarkable detail! A very rare little piece of nautical art. Ca. 1860-1880. |
