Liberty Silver and Enamel Mirror and Brush, designed by Jessie M. King, Birmingham 1906. The brush and hand mirror decorated with green and blue enamel stylised floral celtic festoon surround. Fully hallmarked and Rd 479297. Some small edge dings. Minor enamel restoration at handles. Length of Mirror and Brush: 10.5 and 10 inches respectively. Similar example of Mirror: Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum, Glasgow. Jessie Marion King, 1875-1949, was a prolific and successful 'Glasgow Style' designer, producing jewellery for Liberty and Co.'s Cymric line, in addition to wallpaper, fabrics, posters and bookplates. |
