Rare 18th century Georgian wine decanter Wagon Trolley, circa 1800. This is an early example trolley of fine Sheffield plate stamped H.R in rectangle, probably for Henry Rock. The double coaster wine wagon on movable wheels and handle, plain form with rosette cap accents to wheels and handle. Very good condition, minor wear, original patina, nice bluish tinge, extremely minor bleeding to high point of handle, very good fusion (see last image). Stamped twice on underside H.R within rectangle. This mark is recorded in Christie's English and American Silver, Michael Clayton page 233, plate 11 for a wine wagon, circa 1780. Measures: 15.75 x 6.5 x 2.75 inches. |
