Rare Christopher Dresser Hukin and Heath Wedgwood Mustard Pot, C.1870. Dresser was only associated with Wedgwood for a short time so relatively few examples are known. Examples of his `mottled glaze’ `majolica’ designs are recorded in Dresser’s Decorative Design Christopher Morley pp 120 and 161 respectively. The silver plate mounts marked for Hukin and Heath, the firm with which Dresser was appointed Art Advisor and the base impressed marks for Wedgwood W. The Mustard of plain silver plated angular design with glazed brown, green and earth tones body, green blue interior. One small imperfection (possibly original manufacture) approximately 4mm. The Mustard together with an associated later English hallmarked silver spoon, amber colour faceted thistle terminal. Height: 3 inches. Breadth: 3.25 inches. |
