| Exceptional late 19th c. diorama of steam/sail vessel off Sandy Hook lightship. done by the same hand as the tug diorama. Judging from the design of the lightship, it was done about 1880s-1890s. From a lifelong collection of marine folk art in eastern CT. Very well done painted background and seas. Gives strong impression of movement. |
