Description:
Chest of drawers, made for Casper Renaker (Penn, 1733-1790), Hanover, York County, Pennsylvania. Walnut and sulfur inlay with pine and tulip poplar. Condition: Top, base molding, feet, and brasses replaced. 51½”H x 41¼”W x 22”D Illustrated: Pennsylvania Folklife, Autumn 1977, vol. XXVII, p. 7. Chipstone Foundation, American Furniture, 2015, Sulfur Inlay in Pennsylvania German Furniture: New Discoveries written by Lisa Minardi, figure 178 and 179.
