An Amazing Coalport Porcelain Dessert Service Decorated with Fruit,
Pattern # 852,
The service is finely and richly painted in colors with fruit, the wide border gilt with bunches of grapes alternate with grape leaves.
This is one of the finest services I've owned in some while. The overall effect in a cabinet or on the table is spectacular. Each piece is painted with a different combination of fruit. While the gilt on a couple of the plates is rubbed, the overall condition is excellent and because the fruit are so bright and strong one does not notice about the little gilt loss. One cover has been reapired too.
The 42 piece service is comprised of:
A footed lozenge-shape compote, 12¼ in. (31.1 cm.) long
Two shaped oval sauce-tureens, covers and stands, 8¼ in. (21 cm.) long, the stand
Four shell-shaped dishes, 9¾ in. (24.8 cm.) long overall
Four lozenge-shape dishes, 11 3/8 in. (28.8 cm.) long
Three square dishes, 8½ in. (21.6 cm.) square
Twenty-four plates, 8 1/8 in. (20.6 cm.) diameter (43) |
