British Colonial ivory and brass inlaid shisham wood work/writing box. The exterior inlaid on top and four sides with ivory floral medallions and framed in geometric bands and lines, the horizontal edges with herringbone inlay of ivory and wood and the vertical edges with brass corner straps. There are many compartments. The front of the box has a long horizontal door concealing three drawers while the right side has a pen drawer which opens when a tambour is slid open inside the box, under an interior tray is an open area with ‘hidden’ drawers. On a custom stand.
