Double-Appliquéd Stars

Double-Appliquéd Stars  [on an American national flag] — A type of star application where a separate star is sewn on either side of the canton. This is the more common of the two methods of stitching stars to a flag. SEE ALSO single-appliquéd stars and reverse-appliquéd stars.
