This is the last issue of the famous De l’Iisle map of North America, considered the most important achievement for North American cartography. This issue depicts the New United States of America with boundaries reflecting the 1783 Treaty of Paris - Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia extending eastward to the Mississippi River. Florida is divided into East and West Florida, and Indian villages and missions are noted throughout Texas and New Mexico.
