This outstanding one-of-a-kind hooked rug is for the discriminating buyer. It has been in my private collection for nearly 18 years. It is an exquisite piece of Folk Art that is done in wonderful earth tones with a few brighter accent colors for contrast, all hooked on a burlap back that was then covered with very early ticking. It depicts a sheep dog that appears to be looking over his flock wearing whimsical goggles or glasses that may have been the artists' interpretation of rings around the dogs eyes. A superlative piece with great artistic design. Professionally mounted and ready for display. A terrific piece of American Folk Art! |
