The circular shaped Porringer decorated with 6 rectangular panels around the side depicting various child scenes with two panels of nursery rhymes between:- "Every Night my prayers I say, And get my dinner every day, And every day that I've been good, I get an orange after food"; centering a panel with initials S.V.B. with floral and bird motifs, with gilt interior bowl, the handle chased with a floral basket with a rabbit inside the basket. The Tray also decorated with six elongated rectangular panels depicting various child scenes with engraved nursery rhymes between:- "A Child should always say what's true And speak when she is spoken to And behave mannerly at table: At least as far as she is able." Stamped on the reverse of each piece with Maker's Mark, Sterling |
