A handsome pair of 19th century hand carved marble dogs from the Hudson Valley area of New York State. Seated with alert expressions as they stare into the distance, the overall anatomical detail of the pair is exceptional. Their heads are extremely well modeled and there is excellent definition in the body, ribs and spine, as well as remarkable detail in the paws.
